Creating a retro-futuristic world for pop artist Jan3t. Tasked with directing a video that conceals the subject's identity and is set in a distorted environment where nothing seems grounded in reality. The challenge was to create a visual identity for the subject and the environment in which they were displayed while obscuring it all. The inspiration stemmed from VHS and CRT glitches and trying to stretch those out to create a look for a long form video. It was important to maintain a sense of recognition so that it did not become overly artificial or unidentifiable.
